August 15, 2008, 2008 (RALEIGH, NC) – Salon Moxie, a hair salon in North Raleigh, has received the 2008 Parents’ Picks Award for “Best Teen Hair Cut” in Raleigh in Nickelodeon’s first annual awards program for family-friendly services.
Nickelodeon’s ParentsConnect.com, an online resource for parenting advice and community, asked parents in 52 major US cities, including Raleigh, to nominate and vote for the best services in their local communities from May 19 to June 30, 2008. Categories ranged from haircuts and kids’ clothes to dentist, library, and “artsy class.” Parents voted online at http://www.parentsconnect.com/parentspicks.
On July 15, ParentsConnect.com published the Parents’ Picks winners on the website. The winning venues’ information will be featured on the site for a year.
Salon Moxie opened in Raleigh’s North Ridge shopping center last summer as a new concept from Jack and Joelle Ray, owners of the award-winning Samuel Cole Salon on Newton Road (www.samuelcole.com).
Salon Moxie attracts a hip, trendy, youthful clientele – literally and figuratively — with its vibrant décor, lively music, art exhibits, and uber-hip staff of talented, highly trained stylists. As the salon’s website contends, “What else would you expect from a salon with moxie?”
