April 22, 2009 (RALEIGH, NC) – Preparing models for Skirt! Magazine’s fashion show and creating “mini-makeovers” in the WRAL booth — Lather, a Raleigh hair salon, will be busy this weekend as the stylists work two booths during the Southern Woman’s Show, to be held April 24-26 at the North Carolina State Fairground in Raleigh.

Fresh from preparing models for the “Threads” fashion show last weekend at N.C. State University’s College of Textiles, Lather stylist Whitney Page will create hair and make-up for a fashion show Skirt, a monthly women’s magazine published by the Raleigh News & Observer, will present during the spring Southern Women’s Show.

Meanwhile, Lather owner and senior stylist Jessica Williams will curl and/or restyle hair and enhance visitors’ makeup applications with “mini-makeovers” in WRAL-TV’s booth.

“We’re calling them ‘mini-makeovers’ because we assume the women coming out to the show will already have make up on, so we will only be enhancing what they’ve already done,” said Williams, whose salon specializes in complete makeovers.

She explained that for a total makeover, she considers “a person’s skin tone, hair color, eye color, profession and age.  And we make sure total makeover clients know how to do what we’re doing when they go back home.”

Lather’s stylists participated in the Southern Bridal Show in Raleigh last weekend. Why another outing so soon?

“The Southern Women’s Show is a great way for us to demonstrate our services to people who may never have heard of us before,” explained Williams, who opened her Raleigh hair salon in October of 2008. “We especially love doing makeovers – even the ‘mini’ variety — and hope to meet many new potential customers this weekend.”

Lather Hair Salon is located at 8521 Cantilever Way near the corner of Glenwood Ave./Highway 70 and Ebenezer Church Road. .
